First let me say I this part fits the VW GTI MKV (2008) vehicle. Amazon mistakenly indicated another part also fit my vehicle and I ended up with no heat in sub 20 degree weather. None the less, this is the correct part, as the plastic shroud around the fan motor is round. If you uninstall your old VW GTI fan blower motor, you'll notice that it's a somewhat ingenious tool-less design in which the entire shroud just rotates into and out of place. There a male/female connector for the electrical, but other than that, it's a very quick replacement. The above said, let me point out that I also realized that the resistor that controls the fan speeds is NOT built into the fan. It's a separate part, so if you have a fan that either does not work at all or only works on full power and off, then your resistor is likely blown. Luckily, Amazon sells these as well and I was able to pick one up for less than ten bucks. This is all a pain in the arse to be sure, and something that you wouldn't expect to occur in a Honda Accord, but it's something you accept in a German car. The good news hear is this part is a perfect fit, screws right in by hand without tools, is just as quiet/loud as OEM, and with free shipping is a relative bargain for a new non-refurbished part.If you need any guidance on what the part looks like or installing it, just check out You Tube. People exaggerate all of the time about installation times being less than they really are, but it seriously only take about 15 mins to get out and maybe another 15 mins to install. Start to finish, you can do the whole replacement in less than a half hour.
