It's quiet, it works, hooray.I installed this on a 94 Chevy C1500 Silverado extended-cab 5.7L truck I recently purchased. The old blower worked, but emitted a horrifying SCREEEOOOREEEEE at any speed other than full-on, which drove me absolutely insane... and being that it's winter in Colorado, this was literally the very first thing I replaced. If you're going to do this, be aware that although there's only four little bolts that hold the blower to its case (passenger side, under the glove box), getting TO those bolts is a ridiculous pain in the arse. One basically has to unbolt the entire dash assembly and then sort of pull out the passenger side far enough to access the four bolts holding this thing in... and since most of the dash assembly is one piece, you have to remove oh... about 30 screws and bolts just to get to those four that you actually need. I cheated a bit and just cut off the PVC/insulation cover that goes around it, and didn't bother replacing it... I have NO idea how you're supposed to get the thing off without literally removing the ENTIRE dash assembly. Whatever, so now I don't have the insulating cover over the blower motor, but I haven't determined any ill effects from this.So it's a royal pain to replace, but once you've gotten to it, this new assembly works great and is both quiet and powerful.
